Kala Health CoQsol®-CF Co-enzyme Q10 capsules are produced according to GMP in the USA. Each softgel capsule contains 100 mg of natural and outstanding Kaneka Co-enzyme Q10.
CoQsol® is formulated with a unique blend of high-quality ingredients for superior absorption, containing CoQ10, natural mixed carotenoids, natural vitamin E (tocopherols), and rice bran oil. Backed by clinical research, CoQsol® increases CoQ10 levels almost three times higher than CoQ10 powder.
CoQsol-CF® is a crystal-free form of CoQsol, offering a completely soluble, liquid, crystal-free solution of CoQ10 clinically proven to provide superior bioavailability. Extracted from the oil of citrus fruits, d-Limonene acts as a non-polar organic solvent that solubilizes CoQ10, without causing significant chemical interactions or degradation. Tocopherols (vitamin E) enhance the biological function of CoQ10, which in turn helps maintain the antioxidant state of vitamin E.

WHAT IS CO-ENZYM Q10?
Co-enzyme Q10 is endogenously synthesized within the mitochondria of every cell of the body. It is then distributed to those tissues where it is needed. Mitochondria are considered the powerhouse of our cells. Co-enzyme Q10 is a so-called co-factor in the cellular respiration (or energy metabolism), and without co-enzyme body cells canot produce energy. Co-enzyme Q10 thus is essential for life, and is found in every cell of the body. A synonym for Co-enzyme Q10 is 'ubiquinon', which means 'everywhere'.
Co-enzyme Q10 is especially abundant in organs that need a lot of energy, such as heart, liver, kidneys, nervous system and the muscles.
Body cells produce a certain amount of co-enzyme Q10, supplementation comes in the form of other Q-enzymes in the food. Rich sources of Q-enzymes are meat, poultry, fat fish (sardines and mackerel), full corn products, nuts, and a number of vegetables (such as broccoli and spinach). These Q-enzymes first must be metabolized by the liver into co-enzyme Q10, the only for that can be utilized by the body cells.
With increasing age the liver capacity decreases to metabolize co-enzyme Q10 from nutritional Q-enzymes. Research shows, a 80-year old person may only have half of the amount of co-enzyme Q10 that was present at the age of 20.
This supports the idea supplementation with a Co-enzym Q10 food supplement would make sense when the age of 40 is reached. Also (top)athletes would benefit from supplementation, as the body needs more co-enzyme Q10 at high intensity training.
